Geelong real estate seminar covered property development

This morning’s Property Success seminar held at John Doe Cafe in Geelong was another outstanding success with a record number of attendees despite the very fresh Geelong winter morning!

This month’s special guest was property developer Tony Anile. Tony’s experience in property development extends over 30 years. In that time Tony has successful completed developments of all shapes and sizes.

Tony began by explaining how he started off in property development with a simple dual occupancy subdivision. He enjoyed the experience so much he took on another project, then another and so on until property development became his sole occupation. With experience in all aspects of property development including simple renovations and subdivisions to 30 plus lot residential developments, commercial, and apartment developments, the was no question Tony could not answer without authority and insight.

Some of the key points to successful property development Tony highlighted were:

  • Research the market within which you are planning to develop
  • Be prepared to look at opportunities that no-one else wants
  • Arm yourself with a solid knowledge of planning regulations
  • Establish a strong relationship with local town planners
  • Build a network of the best professionals in all areas relating to property

This final point was the central theme to Tony’s presentation. In particular he pointed out the importance of having great support in:

  • Accountant
  • Finance broker
  • Solicitor
  • Architect/draftperson
  • Town planner
  • Builder
  • Real estate agent

The bonus was the best of Geelong in each of the above categories in the room!
